A note from the author:
Something I’ve learned over the years is the need for have a ‘long view’ of youth ministry. To do that well, I need to be strategic about how and where I serve. Which is why last summer I committed to what I call The Summer of Crazy: Two weeks of high school camp, a week of junior high camp, junior high guy’s trip, and a bunch of other events. This was the best, and most physically draining, decision I’ve probably ever made in youth ministry.
To read more about why I chose “The Summer of Crazy” and the amazing benefits I’ve seen from that sleepless season, check out Volunteer Youth Ministry: The Roadmap to Effective Leadership.
This book is full of stories, lessons, ideas and strategies that I have developed in my two decades as a youth ministry volunteer. I hope you will learn from my successes—and even from my failures! I know all youth workers (paid and volunteer) will enjoy it.
