This document was actually written and conceived by a group of 20 high school seniors that were in a weekly life group bible study together. Now as the leader, I took everything they wrote out and made it sound a little more “legalese” like a contract/constitution would sound but aside from those creative writing additions, the content and outlines of the articles, sections and sub-sections were all written out, contemplated and discussed and agreed upon by these students.
Our group had been a rather tight nit group of guys over the years, however we fell upon a lull in their senior year where the guys seemed to noticed they had lost their fervor for one another and needed to recommit themselves to being a group that is known by their love for one another (John 13:35), which they had picked as their group verse freshmen year.
We printed a copy of this constitution on a tabloid size (11×17”) card stock paper for each student in the group. We laid them out on a table and everyone went around and signed it where their name was listed on each one so that every member of the group had their own original copy of the document.
As a bonus, I found some cheap frames that would fit an 11×17 piece of paper for $5 a piece, so my co-leader and I went in on them and bought one for each student so that they could hang it in their room. That group has been graduated for several years now and the few I have had the privilege to stay in contact with still have it and have it hanging in their room because they think it’s cool.
Provided is an editable word document so you can make it your own and a PDF document so you can see exactly how it looks. The document in MS word is actually 12×18” so we just adjusted the percentage size until the full document would fit on a single one sided tabloid sheet of paper.
