Saddleback Church’s High School Ministry “Do Something” Series
We’re in a pretty cool series. It’s called Do Something. Each week we have a different hands-on project for our students to do:
Last week: Fill Operation Christmas Child shoe boxes
This week: Wrote letters to soldiers, wrote Thanksgiving cards to senior citizens, prayed for their friends, heard about mission opportunities in Africa, etc.
Next week: Students will package 100,000 meals to send around the world
This weekend I led the Sunday morning services. It was a great weekend to lead because the students were interacting with the topic rather than simply absorbing it. I enjoyed seeing them take the tasks seriously and making a difference in the lives of people many of them will never meet. In an world that has a “me first” approach to living, it’s very refreshing to see students reaching out to meet the needs of others.
