Off To New Mexico For Our High School Ministry Mission Trip
Posted on April 5th, 2009 by Dennis Beckner
At 9:00 tonight our ministry is boarding busses to drive all night to Ship Rock, New Mexico to do some mission work with Navajo Indians. Our early crew arrived late last night to get set up. The rest of us will arrive Monday morning around 8:00 AM.
Our staff put together a daily prayer guide so people can know how to support us in prayer.
Here are the daily prayer needs we’ll have:
SUNDAY, APRIL 5th
Pray for safe travel. Pray for students to be able to sleep on the bus, and for them to be able start making connections with the other students in their village.
MONDAY, APRIL 6th
Pray for students who don’t know anyone and aren’t connected to HSM to meet some people, and feel like a part of the HSM family righ away.
TUESDAY, APRIL 7th
The first day of ministry for our students. Pray for our students to make connections with the Navajo people. Pray that they will see the opportunities that are available to them, even when it feels like there are road blocks to them serving.
WEDNESDAY, APRIL 8th
Today we are doing a Outreach Carnival for all of the surrounding people in Shiprock. Pray that lots of the Navajo people come out to the carnival and have open hearts and minds about checking out the churches that we are partnering with on the reservation.
THURSDAY, APRIL 9th
Pray for our student leaders. Pray that they will be able to keep up their energy and good attitudes to get through the last day of ministry. Pray that they can help point our students towards different ways of serving the Navajo people.
FRIDAY, APRIL 10th
Pray for safe travel home for all the busses and vehicles.
